Denmark and Germany will connect the 18-kilometer-long underwater tunnel

The German authorities approved the construction of an undersea tunnel that will link Denmark and Germany.

The appearance of the tunnel is the result of years of cooperation between the two countries. It is expected that the construction will take about 8.5 years.

The tunnel will be four-lane highway and two railway tracks with a length of 18 kilometers.

The construction will be built under the Strait of Fehmarn belt.

After the object is put into operation (in 2027), a person will need only 10 minutes by car or 7 minutes by train to get from Denmark to Germany.
